Words of Encouragement. . .

β€œDon’t just learn, experience.
Don’t just read, absorb.
Don’t just change, transform.
Don’t just relate, advocate.
Don’t just promise, prove.
Don’t just criticize, encourage.
Don’t just think, ponder.
Don’t just take, give.
Don’t just see, feel.
Don’t just dream, do.
Don’t just hear, listen.
Don’t just talk, act.
Don’t just tell, show.
Don’t just exist, live.”

    Amanda Β hurriedly Β went to Β grab a yellow flowing Β gown that Β passed Β her Β knees. The gown was so long that Β it trailed behind Β her. It reminded Β her of her Β aunt’s wedding Β gown. Β Her’s Β was more Β longer Β than Β her Β auntie’s Β own.Β

β€˜ Be quick girl, is not Β by force to Β go . Nobody Β said you Β must Β go to Β church β€˜ her mom Β called from the Β living room. Amanda Β heard her Β aunt say something like she’s Β coming .

Amanda Β hated going to Β church. She hated it Β as much as Β she hated going Β to the Β library Β after Β class. Β Her mom Β had Β specifically put her Β in the Β care of Β the Β Liberian and Β had given the Β Liberian Β her phone number. The Liberian, made her Β life Β miserable . Amanda Β was Β now treated Β like Β all other intelligent Β freaks like Β Grace . She Β was Β now avoided by everyone Β at school Β even by her Β boyfriend because Β she Β wasn’t Β hanging Β around Β with Β her Β class mates because of the Β library Β visit. She Β didn’t quarrel Β with Β her Β boyfriend. Β He didn’t officially Β break up with Β her, but Β their Β relationship Β had gone Β sour.

She finally came Β down stairs Β in her Β yellow gown. Her mom Β had packed her things for Β her. Her elder sister, Β Amaka Β who was Β more Β of Β a serious Β Christian than her Β didn’t Β want Β to go Β for the Β camping Β trip. It surprised everyone. She Β didn’t Β give Β her Β reason why she didn’t want to Β go when Β her mum asked Β her.Β

Amanda Β went outside and Β stood by her Β auntie’s Β Toyota Β jeep. It was Β a clean car. She had Β bought it Β 2 years ago,but it looked as if it was Β just Β bought newly.Β

Amaka came outside Β carrying Β Ammanda’s things. She didn’t Β say anything to Β her. They hardly ever Β say anything to Β each other. Amanda Β was Β too imperfect Β compared to Β Amaka. Amanda Β was Β the Β black sheep of the Β family. She was the Β topic of Β discussion Β during family Β devotion.Β

Amanda Β came Β over and took Β her Β things from her Β without Β saying Β thank you. Amaka Β stood by the Β car Β  far Β away from Amanda. Their mom Β was Β talking to Β their aunt. Her voice Β was Β loud β€˜sister, Β I can’t Β believe that Β Amanda Β is going to Β church on her Β own without Β being Β forced to Β do so. Their must be Β something she is running from β€˜ her mom Β said Β β€˜ I don’t Β think so, Β I believe that Β Jesus is the one changing Β her β€˜ her aunt replied. Amanda β€˜s mom smiled but didn’t Β reply. Just Β then Β Amanda’s Β mom Β phone Β beeped Β and Β she saw the Β text. She laughed Β so uncontrollably Β with tears streaming down Β her eyes. β€˜ so that’s why Β she Β wants to go for the Β camping trip. Amanda’s Β auntie Β read the Β text Β message and too began laughing.Β
Just Β then, a car entered into the Β compound Β and Β soon Β stopped at the Β main entrance. Amanda’s Β  heart beat Β  Β faster. Grandma Β came out of the Β car Β with Β precious, Amanda’s Β dad. Ammanda watched Β her Β sister Β run Β inside .She heard Β her Β telling Β mother β€˜Am going Β with Β them Β too’ as she went to Β pack Β her Β things but Β Amanda Β knew that Β she won’t Β make it as her auntie ran outside . She Β wanted to Β leave before Β grandmother Β spots her. Her mum too Β came outside. They all entered inside the Β car. Grandmother Β and Β precious heard the Β car zoom off.
Amanda Β had heard Β grandmother Β say to Β Amaka

β€˜And where the Β hell Β do you Β think you Β are Β going Β with Β all Β that Β load?? Get inside and Β prepare Β dinner and Β go Β clean the house , make sure Β is sparkling clean Β or else you Β are going Β to hate yourself β€˜Β
