Simple Disciplines to Keep Your Dream Alive

Many people have a vision of what they want to do. However, as times passing by, their vision start floating in the air and they lose complete track of it. It is easy to be distracted in life. There are so many things that can happen in one day. For instance, you may have children that need all your attention, you may be dealing with horrendous coworkers, customers and the list go on and on. In order for us to keep our dream, vision, goal alive is to discipline ourselves. Sometimes, when there is nobody else to do it for us, we have to do it for ourselves.

1. Start with a promise note to yourself and review it often throughout your day.
Promise yourself that you will be strong not to allow anything to interrupt your peace of mind.
Promise yourself that you will follow your plan, no matter what circumstances you are in.
Promise yourself to always dwell upon the end result.
Promise yourself to accomplish your to-do list, no matter what is going on in your life at the moment.
Promise yourself to think of only the best and to expect only the best.

2. Think positively: Say this often when you find yourself pressing your back against the wall.
I will achieve my dream, no matter how hard things get.
There’s always a way out of a bad situation.
I am the designer of my life.
Nobody else can choose the outcome, but me.
I am an achiever.
I am getting closer every day.
Always be grateful for what you already have.
It’s normal to talk to yourself. But, think positively. The most wonderful things you will ever hear about yourself are the things you say to yourself.
As Joel Osteen once said, “If you cannot be positive, then at least be quiet”

3. Keep a journal:
When your brain is sending out rushing words, write them down, and scrutinize each one carefully.
Record what is happening with you.
Write your plans down and attach them on the wall so that you can see it often.
When an idea arises in you, write it down.

  1. Oristel, we agree on all 6 points. This list will be on our fridge. Staying positive is at times difficult but without a doubt the most important attitude to have if you are desiring success. Its clear to us you have your sights set to soar with the eagles.
